Events that witnessed the helplessness of the central and local authority regarding the capability to resist special operations initiated by the northern neighbor and Ukrainian marginal political forces, had taken place in the beginning of June in Crimea related to the arrival of the cargo ship Advantage along with the American soldiers on the board, who were supposed to assist Ukraine in equipping of the firing range near to the Old Crimea for further joint military training. The wave of local authorities' statements on NATO free territories has gained an epidemic character. Honest lies and misinterpretation by separate politicians of the facts related to the relationships of the former governments of Ukraine with this Euroatlantic organization became in the information area of our country quite normal. Adequate steps and comments on Crimea events on behalf of the Ukrainian authorities were made only after urgent meeting of the NSDC, arranged by the Acting Secretary of NSDC of Ukraine Mr. Horbulin V.

At the same time all the sound political powers understand that only a tight cooperation with NATO and accession of our state to this organization as a full member will make Ukraine's political sovereignty truly nonrotatable and will put to an end to the traditional neo-imperial tries of Russia to manage Ukrainian territories and information area.

This edition contains materials, which hopefully will help to destroy all the myths and to overcome those aggressively imposed stereotypes concerning the negative results of Ukraine's accession to NATO in the geopolitical aspect for its military and industry complex and economy as a whole.

Concept article of Horbulin is related to the fundamentals and strategy of the national security of Ukraine under the current circumstances. Its author analyses all the challenges and threats to the national security of our state; and arguably proves the necessity for Ukraine to consequently continue to follow previously defined course on European and Euroatlantic integration.

Other two articles, based on the analysis of the east European countries NATO accession experience, contain a try to forecast the future of the military and industry complex of Ukraine under the circumstances of its integration into this organization. To our opinion quite significant is the fact that independent opinions and conclusions of both authors from MFA of Ukraine and Non-governmental analytical center concerning this problem are almost similar.

We hope that articles of this edition will become an adequate contribution into sanitation of the situation of the subject "Ukraine-NATO".
